Seniors Today
Seniors Today is a feature of Community Television, Inc.’s (WATC TV57) Atlanta Live Program. Atlanta Live is a two-hour program, 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.m., Monday through Friday, that highlights area pastors as hosts, along with station owners, James H. & Joanne Thompson. Atlanta Live has a mix of musical artists, community topics and local guests sharing about their experiences that help those in the community.
Hosts of the Seniors Today edition are Betty Cornet and Pat Mathis. It is held the first Thursday of each month during the 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. time slot of Atlanta Live. Seniors Today focuses on topics that inform senior citizens on community services, financial and health care, wills, nursing home care, and profiles seniors who are active and inspiring. Local organizations, etc., that involve seniors are invited to be on the program to help educate the seniors in Georgia and surrounding areas.
Guests on Seniors Today have included accountant Phillip Sanders, Elder Care Advisor; the “Queen of Southern Gospel Music” Eva Mae Lefevre; Jack Gantz, Gwinnett Council for Seniors; P.K. Beville, Founder of Second Wind Dreams- a make-a-wish for seniors; Judge Walter J. Clark, Probate Court of Gwinnett County; Donzella James, Georgia State Senator; Barbara Pastirik, Adult Protective Services; as well as many singers who are still singing in their elder years.
